As an artist or an aspiring creative, you might look at all the AI-generated artwork out there and wonder — what do I do from here? This technology can crank out a masterpiece a minute, and it would take years of dedicated practice to become competitive with it.

In other words, it may feel hard to develop a tangible, accessible goal. And when you don’t have a north star in the midst of your pursuit -- a way to steer your knowledge toward some purposeful end -- this undertaking can feel all the more difficult to endure.

This was one of my first thoughts when I witnessed this technology play out for the first time. As someone who grew up with a love of drawing, I wasn't sure how to map out my future. That began to change when I looked back at my foundations as a creator -- that so much of my joy as an artist comes within the process of my craft. I decided that the pursuit of one's full potential, and the sense of purpose that comes along with that, was worth finding a way through.

If you're here reading this with me today, chances are you relate to this feeling as well. That means no matter the circumstances, we do what we're best at -- being creative -- to find a way through. That’s what this podcast is all about.

AI has begun to change the landscape of the art world in different ways. Some aspects remain strong -- for instance, traditional media has been strengthened by all of the changes as people seek authenticity through tactile means. However, other methods -- such as digital art, which many modern professionals use on a daily basis — has begun to feel the changes much more distinctly.

Opportunities are becoming more difficult to find as people are eager to cut costs and increase their bottom line. But whether you’re a digital or traditional creator, there’s an even bigger issue as far as marketing yourself goes — it’s hard for people to even believe that your work is your own.

Here at Art By Humans, our purpose is to provide you with the encouragement and the resources you need to persevere despite these circumstances, and to be a part of your journey toward your full potential as an artist. Like any skill worth developing or obstacle to overcome, building resilience in your perspective is key to making your way through.

We all have our own roadblocks — maybe it’s motivation, or that pesky technique you’re still in the process of figuring out — but no matter your level of experience, this new frontier of AI is the biggest issue that all of us are facing together. This goes from the newest among us all the way to the most experienced veterans. So that being said, let’s dive into what I believe to be the strongest reasons for persevering in this day and age.
